What is more joyful, triumphant, and communal than a wedding? Against all odds and obstructions, a wedding purely proclaims love has won.
So I seek to bring words celebratory and personal, reflective of the divine spiriting, the larger plan at work, that moves each couple to unite.
What’s the humor of your exchanges? The remarkable coincidence of how you met? What correctives of each other do you bring? How do you enhance each other’s talents and enjoyments of life? Through a series of interviews I get a feel of you as a pair, I take in your stories and excitements, your unique hopes, fears, expressions and affects.
Then there’s the distillation of it all. An attempt at a united portrait, highlighted by truths from Sacred Writ, and gleanings from the wisdom of the ages as it’s been passed down.
The intent of this process is that the marriage service not be surface but soulful, that it ring deeply true; so that you, the bride and groom, and your wedding guests might have an experience together that’s sacred, memorable, full of light, far more than generic; rich with the creative, atoning, synthesizing presence of the One who is love and the giver of it, almighty and merciful God.
